What it is

Metallic Floors, explained

A metallic floor uses epoxy mixed with metallic pigments and worked while it is still wet, so the color pools and swirls into a marbled, almost three-dimensional pattern. The movement is part of the finish, which means every floor is one of a kind.

The two in our photos show the range: a warm copper floor and a deep blue and black one. It is a finish for rooms where the floor is meant to be noticed.

Yes. The base and metallic colors are chosen with you. The exact swirl pattern cannot be planned in advance, because it forms as the coat is worked.

Is metallic epoxy good for a garage?

It can go in a garage, but it is usually chosen for interiors where the look matters most. For a hard-working garage, flake tends to be more forgiving.

How long does it take?
